It has been 115 to 120 degrees F for the last few days, which is bringing the patio bucket garden to a close. It was a fun experiment, but seriously the tomatoes are happier in the ground.
Bucket garden - done.
The morning glory vines are really covering the fence now, but here they're saying "More Water Please!". You got it, ladies.
OK, no garden is complete without one or two zucchini plants. They're fine in the ground with poor soil.... these squash are seriously weeds in the sun. I can't handle too much, but in small quantities they're delicious dipped in low fat ranch!
"More Water Please!
Watermelon... I couldn't resist, they make such insanely fun huge plants.
The raised bed garden is VERY happy, and the cucumbers are really climbing the trellis now. Almost harvest time for cherry tomatoes!
More happy trellis climbing...
Morning glory vines, reaching the top of the fence and triumphantly waving in the breeze.
The radishes love the raised bed, and I pulled some delicious radishes out of here over the last month. With the MEGA heat this weekend, however, they seem to be dormant. I don't blame them! It should cool. back down to the low to mid 90's this week, so lets see if they kick back in to growing.
Just a big mess of tomato fines.... : )
