The next round of carrots, after the ones in the raised beds, are in a 4'x4' patch of ground out back east of the raised beds. It's cheap and easy to see how they work out. I amended the soil with a bag of Kellogg, and used Nantes heirloom seeds.

Carrots! June update
I had a bunch of carrots growing in the front by the palm trees... they were in a bad spot with uneven water, in poor soil. Not bad eh? They were not as sweet as the ones grown in the raised bed, but they were delicious nevertheless : )
