Broccoli

I seem to have a trend - one of each of the difficult plants.  This is my ONLY broccoli plant that made it.  He's very happy.

Puffy Onions!

The onions are all blown up like balloons today... I wonder if it's the air pressure changes?  They look so cute, like the huge balloons on top of car dealerships.

I'm determined to sprout my Christmas carrot seeds in these half whiskey barrels.  They get lots of sunshine here and automatic watering.  Tasty February treats!

Ahhhh the beautiful sight of sprouting carrot seeds.  YES they're too close together, I know, but I'm not going to thin them... I'm going to transplant them.  That, of course, is the experiment.

Potted Carrots

My mission this winter is to grow a million carrots which have been started in half whiskey barrels.  So far, transplanting seems to be a viable option.  I'll keep you up to date with my progress as the winter progresses.

The peas are lovely, but not making any peas.  Not enough sun on this raised bed.
